Friday Favourite: Balthazar

May 20th, 2011 § Leave a Comment

Once upon a time the girl was standing on the shore, wind blowing in her long blond curls. Her eyes were fixed on the horizon. She clutched a small packet of letters to her chest, lovely letters tied together with a red ribbon. He was out there, thinking of her and writing to her. Her sailor.

Balthazar is an imaginary sailor. He is also what he calls a pretend photographer but the pretend in that is up for discussion as far as I am concerned.

Balthazar writes letters. Beautiful little pieces of epistolary perfection that he sends to perfect strangers accompanied by lovely, naughty, dreamy or nostalgic polaroids. He writes about anything, tells you secrets that nobody else will know and very subtly turns on the seduction and the charm. With 5$ for postage and polaroid film a letter will be on its way. However patience is a virtue: there is only one of him after all.
